Goal 3: Foster a Care Community for Online Learning Results:
Student Success & Support Module and Needs Assessment: The second iteration of EFSC’ s student support Needs Assessment Survey continues to serve as a valuable tool. The survey generates data that captures what EFSC support services students are familiar with, the method by which they learned about these services, and how / when they prefer to use these services. Our assessment survey is now uniformly embedded into five unique Canvas locations, including EFSC’ s FYE Canvas Course, EFSC’ s Success and Support Canvas Course( supporting probation cohorts), EFSC’ s SAIL Welcome Aboard Course, and EFSC’ s Canvas Student Resources Course( accessible collegewide to all students enrolled at the college). In addition, this consolidated Needs Assessment Survey is also embedded into EFSC’ s Required Canvas Orientation: Module 2: Online Learning( course completion is required for all students admitted to EFSC).
Embedded Math Tutoring: A framework was created embedding math tutors in the 12-week session of fall term. Success rates for students enrolled in math courses with embedded tutors outpaced courses without embedded tutors.
