EFSC Successfully Transitions Employee Insurance Program to State’ s People First System

Eastern Florida State College( EFSC) has completed a seamless transition of its employee insurance program to align with the State’ s People First benefits plan, marking a significant milestone in enhancing coverage and consistency for faculty and staff.
The move, which took effect earlier this year, was designed to provide employees with expanded options, competitive premiums, and access to a broader network of healthcare providers. By joining People First, EFSC employees now benefit from standardized offerings across Florida’ s higher education institutions, ensuring equity and improved support for their health and well-being.
EFSC’ s Human Resources team worked closely with IT, Accounting, Collegewide Communications, and state officials to ensure a smooth implementation. Through proactive communication, informational sessions, and personalized assistance, employees were guided through the enrollment process with minimal disruption. Feedback from staff has been overwhelmingly positive, citing improved plan flexibility and comprehensive coverage as key advantages.
“ Our Human Resources team completed this transition while facing many challenges,” said College President Dr. Jim Richey.“ Their dedication to ensuring that each and every EFSC employee received the assistance they needed navigating the process is commendable. Well done, team!”
This successful transition underscores EFSC’ s commitment to investing in its workforce and fostering a supportive environment that prioritizes employee health and financial security.
