TAKES OFF
The Aerospace Center of Excellence on the Titusville Campus opened its doors to the first group of students who will benefit from its training .
• The 16 students were from Astronaut High School in Titusville working toward a certification in Structural Assembly
• Their enrollment reflects how the college is working closely with Brevard Public Schools to develop a pipeline of skilled high-tech workers starting in high school
• Employees from rocket-maker Blue Origin also underwent customized training with more employees expected in the next year
• ACE expands the college ’ s Cocoa Campus-based Aerospace Technology program to the Titusville Campus , which is ideally situated adjacent to Kennedy Space Center
• With a bevy of new commercial space companies locating near Titusville , ACE will provide a muchneeded training ground for students from North Brevard and adjoining counties and allows the Aerospace Technology two-year degree program to double in size
• The building includes four specialized labs in electronics , metal fabrication , fluids and composites . It is housed in a repurposed gym .
