FLORIDA TODAY CANDIDATE FORUMS
EFSC partnered with Florida Today to televise a dozen candidate forums that provided the public a front row seat on important local issues in the 2022 elections .
• Florida Today , in conjunction with the Space Coast League of Women Voters , recorded the sessions and EFSC broadcast them on WEFS-TV .
• The forums included races for Congress , Florida Legislature , Brevard County Commission , Brevard County School Board and Referendums .
• Election Night coverage came from the WEFS studio on the Cocoa Campus where experts analyzed the results .
• The forums marked a near 20-year partnership between the college and Florida Today to give citizens a chance to see the candidates in action .
• Since they began in 2004 , hundreds of candidates have participated to discuss local , state and national issues .
• EFSC has also opened its doors to presidential campaigns on four occasions .
• In 2008 , then-Sen . Barack Obama and Sen . John McCain both campaigned at the college during their race for the White House .
• In 2012 , former President Bill Clinton and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich also brought presidential contests to the college .
