December 2019 College Accomplishments Making a Difference The Center for Service-Learning and Civic Engagement again played an important role in student volunteer efforts for a host of Space Coast organizations. (Community Awareness) • Nearly 1,800 students provided 35,000 hours of volunteer service, with more than 3 million volunteer hours provided since the program began in 1988. • New efforts included the Titan Tutors program with students filling a critical need for tutors in struggling Brevard Public Schools. • similar effort at Endeavour Elementary School that began in A 2014 produced its highest standardized test scores in over a decade, earning the school a passing grade. • bout 140 student volunteers in partnership with Junior A Achievement helped to foster work-readiness skills, entrepreneurship and financial literacy that reached 2,000 Brevard Public Schools students. • r.
