Strong Fiscal Performance
The College received excellent financial audits in five key areas
throughout the year and awarded and disbursed millions of
dollars in student financial aid. (Student Enrollment, Diversity
Initiatives, Financial Management, Employee Relations,
Community Awareness)
• The annual Scholarship Recipient and Donor Reception was held,
Distinguished Alumni Award re-established, and a VIP Alumni Series
event started.
• Titans Unite luncheon welcomed 75 former EFSC Board of Trustees
members and Foundation Board of Directors members to celebrate
the new Melbourne Campus Student Union.
Striving for Excellence
• Received clean financial audits for the College, EFSC Foundation,
King Center for the Performing Arts, WEFS-TV and the Florida
Department of Law Enforcement Trust Fund.
• Awarded and disbursed $53 million in federal and state financial
aid to students.
• Implemented software to automate financial aid processing
to increase efficiency and accuracy; a process that previously
took 8-9 hours manually has been automated to 2 hours, in
partnership with Information Technology.
• Held Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) workshops
in Fall 2019 on all campuses for graduating high school seniors, in
partnership with Student Recruitment & Enrollment Marketing.
• Successfully obtained $7 million line of credit for the construction
of the first student housing facility at the college.
• Seamlessly implemented a 27-week pay calendar for faculty.
Foundation Scholarship Records
The EFSC Foundation’s fundraising efforts continued growing
with campaigns and special events increasing scholarship
money for students and strengthening bonds between the
college, donors and alumni. (Student Enrollment, Diversity
Initiatives, Financial Management, Trustee Relations,
Community Awareness)
• 722 students received scholarships with a record $723,000
awarded and record average scholarship of $1,000.
• The Titan Fund grew by 30% with 1,874 total gifts for
a total of $189,069.
• The annual Golf Tournament and Backyard BBQ raised over
$200,000.
• Total giving increased 16.4 percent.

2019 College Accomplishments
The Center for Teaching Excellence provided a range of
opportunities for faculty members to continue advancing
their professional development.
• Sent 55 faculty members to sessions for professional
development and conferences, exposing them to new
developments in higher education.
• Conducted 98 workshops for training in areas such as educating
deaf and hard-of-hearing students in STEM programs, and
preparing Nursing students for the next level in their studies.
• Created a Diversity Training Program that gives faculty new tools
to design curriculums to improve classroom success for students
from disadvantaged groups.
• Reinvigorated the Study Abroad program that improved safety
standards, crafted a written handbook and made overseas trips
more affordable with 41 students studying in Europe, Belize,
Zambia and Japan this year.
• Developed a Copyright Guidance Policy for faculty to govern how
to use digital material from websites and social media platforms
to prevent copyright infringement.
