No Tuition Hike for
Eighth Straight Year
The Fiscal Year 2019-20 budget for $78 million contained no
tuition increase for the eighth straight year, keeping EFSC
among the most affordable colleges in the state. (Financial
Management, Student Enrollment, Employee Relations,
Trustee Relations, Community Awareness)
• Holding the line on tuition makes it more likely students will
graduate and begin their careers.
• The basic annual salary for full-time faculty members of the
United Faculty of Florida EFSC Chapter increased $1,250 in the
second year of a three-year collective bargaining agreement.
• The College paid an increase in health and dental insurance
premiums for all full-time employees with no additional
contributions from them.
• That saved employees $9,300 a year, a very significant benefit
that many other employers simply do not provide, and an amount
generous in comparison to other colleges in the Florida College
System.
• The budget fully-funded all College programs, including the more
than 60 new programs started the past six years, including nearly
25 Bachelor Degree tracks.
• It also invested $15.5 million in projects, including upgrading
the College’s technology infrastructure and improvements to
classrooms and other facilities.
