ABA Approves Paralegal Program
The American Bar Association approved the college’ s Paralegal Studies Program after a stringent review, creating a strong career path for students into the field.( Student Recruitment, Diversity Initiatives)
Paralegal Highlights:
• The program is just the 10th in Florida to gain ABA approval after a review in which it met strict standards for a well-rounded education to meet the needs of the local legal community.
• Graduates earn an Associate in Science Degree after completing courses in procedural and substantive law, practical paralegal skills and general education.
• The program culminates with a semester long internship where students bridge the gap between classroom learning and real world legal experience.
Florida Today Special Report
Florida Today spotlighted EFSC achievements from 2012-16 in a 12-page special marketing section that appeared in print and online with videos and links in stories to the college’ s website.( Student Enrollment, Public Relations, Community Awareness)
Report Highlights:
• Five stories focused on the vision for the college’ s growth, new academic programs, campus expansion plans, student life and EFSC Foundation.
• Online, each story featured an accompanying video that discussed achievements.
• The special report was widely read and viewed, giving Florida Today readers a clear sense of the college’ s successful direction.

Top College Rankings
EFSC Earned top collegiate rankings in Florida and U. S. in two separate surveys that showed the strength of the college’ s programs, instruction, and affordability.( Student Recruitment, Diversity Initiatives, Employee Relations, Financial Management, Trustee Relations, Community Awareness)
Ranking Highlights:
• Schools. com ranked Eastern Florida State College the top community college in Florida in a study that examined the 28-member Florida College System.
• The study cited EFSC for“ its commitment to affordability and enrichment opportunities” in the Florida College System.
• Schools. com also said:“ EFSC ranks in the top three for affordability of tuition, fees, books and supplies. It also finished in the top three for graduation rates and in the top 10 for its transfer rate to the State University System of Florida. EFSC also offers credit for life experience and onsite child care, both of which can be a big help for busy students.”
• RegisteredNursing. org ranked EFSC’ s Nursing Program 3rd among 50 public and private colleges and universities in Florida, praising the quality of the instruction that students receive.
• The ranking stated:“ EFSC has well-respected nursing faculty who work hard to prepare students for the rigors of professional nursing. Students commit to an engaging education for community betterment.”
• EFSC had the highest ranking of any college in the Florida College System in the RegisteredNursing. org report.
