• Created several new two-year AA degree programs and other certificate programs, the first such

• Created two new varsity sports programs in men’s soccer and women’s tennis to improve opportunities
for student-athletes, and launched intramural sports programs to enhance the collegiate experience.

• Began strong outreach effort that has led to positive relationships in Brevard’s minority communities
through meetings in local churches and one-on-one discussions with minority leaders that continued

• Crafted fiscally strong FY 2012-13 $75.4 million operating budget that fully funded all programs and gave
a pay increase to staff for the first time in three years. (Financial Management, Trustee Relations)
• FY 2012-13 budget included no tuition hikes for students for the first time in more than four years,
saving them about $1.5 million. (Student Enrollment, Financial Management, Trustee Relations)
• Negotiated new three-year collective bargaining agreement with the United Faculty of Florida Brevard
Chapter that included a faculty pay raise. (Employee Relations, Financial Management, Trustee Relations)
• I mproved College’s academic organizational structure and hired a new Chief Learning Office to direct
academic programs and work closely with faculty. (Student Enrollment, Employee Relations)
• Community College Week Magazine study showed BCC ranks 19th in the U.S. in awarding AA degrees
among 1,200 community colleges nationwide. (Student Enrollment, Public Awareness, Diversity

• Community College Week Magazine study also showed BCC ranks 13th in awarding associate degrees
in science technologies, 68th in awarding associate degrees to African-American students, and 76th

• Created first ever enrollment management plan to establish a comprehensive approach to student
