JIM RICHEY, PRESIDENT | 2013 LEADERSHIP HIGHLIGHTS December 2013 • Leadership results in new $13.2 Public Safety Institute poised to begin construction, with project coming in under budget in start of a planned long-term expansion of the Melbourne campus. (Student Enrollment, Financial Management, Employee Relations, Trustee Relations) • Created new Veterans Center that provides specialized assistance to the more than 875 military veterans currently enrolled and expanding veteran services in a number of ways. (Student Enrollment, Diversity Initiatives, Community Relations, Public Awareness) • Increased fundraising resulted in nearly $18.2 million endowment at Eastern Florida State College Foundation, the largest in the college’s 53-year history. (Fundraising, Financial Management) • W  on contract bringing Florida High School Athletic Association Boys and Girls State Soccer Championship Tournaments to the new soccer complex in February 2014, with 20 teams and thousands of spectators participating in expected One to Two Million Dollar boost to Brevard economy. (Community Relations, Public Awareness, Student Enrollment) • Led first commencement for Eastern Florida State College with nearly 2,000 students eligible to receive their diplomas, lauding students in speech as “role models for all Eastern Florida students who will follow.” (Employee Relations, Community Relations, Trustee Relations)
