• Upgraded Emergency Alert system to allow for emergency messages to be simultaneously sent via text
and other platforms including social media, website, desktop computers and classroom phones. System
worked smoothly during November gun threat that locked down Cocoa campus. (Employee Relations)
• Expanded the Center for Teaching Excellence in its second year with 24 new faculty workshops on a
range of subjects and working with China to offer opportunities for faculty to teach overseas. (Employee

• Created new and revamped website sections for more than 30 academic and support programs
throughout the year in the websites’ essential role as a main platform for recruitment, retention and

ontinued year-long security workshops with students, faculty and staff that include information on
what to do if a shooter strikes and the college’s Title IX zero-tolerance policy on sexual misconduct.

• Upgraded drainage system on the Titusville campus to improve flood control during heavy rains and

• Began Fall Term with more than 16,000 students enrolled, including a record of more than 900 students
enrolled in nine Bachelor Degree tracks in just the second year the programs were offered. (Student

• Broke ground on a new Health Sciences Institute on the Melbourne campus, a $20 million state-of-
the-art facility that will contain specialized labs and classrooms; marks second major building project

• Successfully negotiated new three-year college bargaining agreement with United Faculty of Florida
Brevard Chapter, with UFF members ratifying the contract in a 211-7 vote. (Employee Relations, Financial

• S chools.com ranks EFSC second best community college in the 28-member Florida College System,
citing “highly reasonable tuition, a solid graduation rate in 2014 and the rate of acceptance for admitted

• Started case-management advising model to provide more one-on-one interaction between students

dded two new varsity sports in men’s tennis and women’s golf to start in 2016, raising the number
of EFSC varsity sports to 11 which is the most in the Florida College System; lacrosse club team also
