International Projects Congress 2013 Text: Emilia Buhaev, LC Bucharest Photographs: Uroš Zupan, LC Ljubljana Early Wednesday morning you can see dozens of students all suited up, hear a mosaic of languages and feel their eagerness for this amazing week, Congress truly is an exceptional event. Opening Ceremony barely started and from the view of things (an amazing top floor view over the city) you can already notice that our host, LC Munich, had outdone themselves. Opening speeches and a toast make room for ideas and discussions on EESTEC, home LCs and on the International network. And if the opening speech was not enough to spark the conversations, then the following presentation of the winners of our successful Android Competition and the few words of our partner Google, sure did. Furthermore introduction to Congress and all its procedures took place that day; you learn about General Meetings, Scrutinizers, Secretaries, GM Chairman, voting procedures, AOB, hand rules and much more. Once you are aware of the ones motioned above, you are ready to take the first important vote, the approval of the Agenda. Now you know all the goals for the week, quite a busy one, you can say. Right after lunch, during the Working Sessions, we put the morning inspiration to good use and learned, built on solutions or brain- stormed about several topics. The sessions are coordinated by International Board members, trainers and/or project leaders and they were about: International Awareness, Distance Learning Project, Alumni System, Contact Persons Network and Changes in Rules of Procedure. If you only think that a few days before tasks were still being handed and revised, trainings were held to motivate members, rooms were being checked and reservations were confirmed. Just imagine a room of students and a fearless coordinator that will not end the meeting until all tasks are taken. That was the general attitude, everything has to be planned and everyone has to have something to do, there is a great reputation at stake and they can only accept it to be even greater after this event. Even more if you think that there is a second event held in parallel: Women in Engineering, already an event with tradition for LC Munich. Nevertheless jokes had room in the meetings and after-meetings always took place in the comfortable guild office. Plus a reward system for the best organizer in the event was put in place. Does anyone remember Congress without a particular day dedicated equally to students, companies and EESTECers? I am sure you guessed it is Open Day. 10
