Message from the Chief Education Officer (Ag) - Mrs. Elizabeth Walker
As Chief Education Officer (Ag.), I am delighted to be associated with the 2018 - 2019 edition of the Education Statistical Digest. This publication comes at a time when the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, through its many partners, is working towards improvement in the quality of education for every child.
Data collection and analysis are critical activities as they drive the decision making process. Such data must be valid and reliable to ensure confidence in the decisions which assist in navigating the pathways to students’ present and future engagements. Without empirical data, our technical activities will be superficial, mundane and not evidence-driven.
I thank my technical staff for their contributions to this exercise. It is hoped that with our vision that “every learner succeeds”; the data provided will guide the implementation of projects and activities and guide strategies to institutionalize policies and practices to realize this vision.
I would also like to thank the Planning Department for its commitment to ensuring that this digest meets all expectations and is delivered in a timely and efficient manner.
