Foreword from the Minister of Education National Reconciliation and
Information
I am pleased to share with all stakeholders our St. Vincent and the Grenadines
Education Statistical Digest for the academic year 2018-2019. This edition of
the Education Statistical Digest is being published in the year when we
commemorate our fortieth anniversary of independence with a focus
on ‘Renewal @ 40 and Beyond.’
Our post-colonial education landscape is constantly changing to cater for the
diverse needs of all of our learners. More and more of our students at all levels
are being provided with greater access to quality education. Our
educational institutions are now providing this whole array of students with
more possibilities to excel academically and the data show that more and
more of our students are matriculating to higher levels of education.
As our education system develops access to information in real time has
become the standard, spearheaded by the continuous rise and evolution
of social media sites and other avenues for the dissemination of information
made possible through advanced digital technologies. Thus, our
Education Statistical Digest in its digital format can now be accessed from
any part of the globe without delay.
I am satisfied that the data presented in this publication will be of tremendous
use to educators, researchers, policymakers, students and a host of other end users.
I thank everyone who contributed to this edition and urge all users to provide
us with any feedback that will help us to improve future publications.
Honourable St. Clair Prince
Minister of Education, National Reconciliation and Information
