2025-2026 FRESHMAN CLASS ELECTION RESULTS

New editions have joined campus leadership! Gabrielle Freeman-Jones and Christopher Hawkins were crowned Miss and Mister Freshman for the 2025- 2026 Emerald Green & Citrine Royal Court. In addition, April Twum-Barimah and Forlanda Antonio Snead Jr. won the race for the new SGA Freshman Class President and Vice President. The official results were announced on the official Instagram page of Norfolk State University Student Activities.
Twum-Barimah and Snead ran on the“ Spartans Most Wanted” campaign. The campaign highlighted why the duo was“ charged” and“ wanted” in Norfolk State playing on the theme. The list of crimes included“ making sure every Spartan voice is heard, every boot stays on the ground, and every freshman feels included.”
These“ crimes” were the foundation for ensuring the class of 2029 feels welcome and included this year. Together, they are ensuring that new Spartan voices are heard. In addition, they plan to build bridges and close gaps between the students and the university administration.
They also plan to introduce inclusive events and traditions for the class of 2029, making their mark. Adding that the platform is to increase the class of 2029 ' s involvement around campus while building lasting relationships and developing leadership skills.
Freeman- Jones ran on the platform of“ DIVA” for the 2025 Miss Freshman election.“ DIVA” stands for Distinguished, Involved, Valuable, and Authentic
She expressed,“ Every freshman year deserves a‘ DIVA.”

Her campaign emphasized the good qualities a student should have as a freshman. These qualities include,“ always being better than yesterday, spreading positivity to others, leading with passion, networking, bringing everyone together, and staying 100 % authentic while inspiring others to stay true to themselves as well,” mentioned also in her campaign.
Hawkins ran on the platform of“ The Greatest Spartan” for the 2025 Mister Freshman election. His campaign emphasized the importance of bringing the class of 2029 together.
Hawkins expressed,“ From the freshman class to the whole campus, your poise builds our show!” Unity for the entire campus is the goal for the new Mister Freshman.
