Natural Variation
The sun shines in all its spectacular glory,
With the passing clouds misting the colourful lory
And there I sit leaning against the coarse bark
With filtered light duly paving the lark
The carpet I lay is as verdant as ever
And in a distant I hear the rains simmer
I later noticed those seedlings emerge
Fighting against the soil crust in-order to surge
The nested birds chirp out high
Until their mother hears them cry
And down there are the slugs and worms slithering by
Scampering for protection from a passer-by
Survival in general is hard within
And that I realise is how nature begins
The Shaded Her
And there she was, shimmering under the silver slick
That infectious aura beaming to draw a flick
Her skin soft and supple with that subtle radiance
Trajecting my inner self in an outward covariance
In the breeze, her dark hair scuffles
And with some hope I raise my ruffle
She continued to gaze upwards being still
And I just watched to be contained and not prilled
The darkness sets in deeper than ever before
And she just stood there like seen never before
