Beyond
I saw through the eyes of David Balfour
As a Mowgli kid in some part of dusty India
That smirked of cartography.
I imagined the cold of the Northern Hebrides
When the Himalayas shot it's wintry December.
I was more afraid of Doyle's Baskerville hound
Than Major Patel's ruthless Doberman next door.
I marvelled for St. Columba
While immersing myself in Krishna's kirtans.
All Indos vied for Harry - the maniacal Potter guy
But I found a Voldemort in a Durga Puja pandal
As the new age Asura.
And in my local bustee I had a 'Treasure Island!

Ripened years today take me back
To a boyhood sphere of fantastic connections.
Such are the ways in which life takes us
Across Time, Space & Beyond.
