Crossroads of Life
Standing at the crossroads of life
You refuse to go left and I don‛t want to go right
The gloom of our differences overshadow the moonlit night
The shared dreams we envisaged
Are now nothing but embers
That die a slow death inside each of us
The sound of your fading footsteps in perfect sync with my stoic silence
As ego has its last laugh
Amidst the agonies of the unspoken heart
Spring turns to fall and life passes me by
But your fragrance still lingers on
Defying the unstoppable time
The chill of the night shatters through my window
As I realise my only solace
Is in the cocoon of your sweet reminiscence
The flowers are in full blossom again
As I walk towards that familiar face
Brushing past the splinters of pride
And yet again we stand at the crossroads of life
You refuse to go left and I don‛t want to go right
Engulfed in the warmth of the summer sun, together we choose the road ahead of us
