The Galloping Vision (-
at Moniach Mhor –)
The sun had reached the end of its catwalk
About to retreat in glory and set.
The applause was frozen in the shock
Of a sudden stunning silhouette
It stood frozen in haloed anticipation
Its hair ruffled like wisps of rain
Highlighted by the molten golden
Light that framed its neck and mane
The symphony then swept upon us
And heaven bent with renewed grace
The model orb spun out of focus
And on the earth an awesome race
Began, as the vision sprang to movement
Setting the captive rhythm free
From the limits of earth‛s moments
Beyond the meeting point with sea.
From an amble to a canter
It set the beat which ruled the moon
And one by one the stars encountered
An amorous harmony that soon
Brought together slave and master
Locked in drum beats‛ breathless speed
As the earth skidded faster
Like a train from tracks now freed
Thudding through the feverish night
Sped on by the gathering hooves
Of lightening speed and heaving might
Ignited love fresh on the move –
On and on it raced unbridled
Round and round the fields it tore
Till past and present moments mingled
As time unhinged its prison door
Letting the momentous vision
Challenge sea, sky and earth
Fragmenting the known horizon
In this fecund act of birth.
