The city has 26 libraries, a lot of interesting historical buildings such as Kaunas Castle,
many interesting museums and theaters.
Kaunas water-power station: Kaunas water-power station is a biggest power
station, which is using energy from water. It is important not only for making
electricity. It protects Kaunas city from floods in spring. After the winter ice in the
Nemunas River melts and all that water stays in Kaunas reservoir.
Kaunas botanic garden: In this botanic garden there are many different plants.
These plants are used in scientific researches. Students study these plants to learn
about it. People come to see them. In this garden it is possible to see different
expositions of plants. For example: herbs, flowers, exotic and rare plants expositions.
These two object show, that Kaunas city is environmentally friendly. In this city energy
is used well and there are places to save rare plants. And one object can be used for
few purposes.
