ALTERNATIVE ENERGY SOURCES
The world must use alternative energy, if it wants to be a green planet. Alternative
energy is the energy that comes from environmentally friendly sources. Renewable
energy is an alternative energy. Renewable energy sources are solar energy,
geothermal energy, hydropower, bioenergy and wind energy.
In Lithuania, there are wind farms which produce renewable energy. Wind energy is
the fastest growing of all sources of energy. Wind farms are of different types and
sizes. I think, wind energy isn’t very good source of alternative energy, because birds
and bats die when they bump into wind farm wings.
Also Lithuania use solar power energy. Solar energy can be used cheaply and clean.
It doesn’t pollute the Earth. Solar collectors can be installed in a roof or on a field. I
prefer this source of energy, because it’s clean and safe.
Hydropower isn’t popular in Lithuania, but it is renewable energy. There are
hydropower stations which produce energy from water flow. One of these stations is
in Kaunas. I like this renewable energy type, because it doesn’t pollute planet.
We should use alternative energy, because it doesn’t produce carbon dioxide and the
Earth should be clean. We must save our Earth!
