Your Everyday Makeup Look Guide is here!
Getting ready in the morning can be one of the most difficult tasks if we do not have an idea which makeup look we want. Struggling with an everyday makeup look can be frustrating if we only have 10, 20, or 30 minutes to get ready. Honestly, some of us just give up and put our brushes down, put on some bb cream, lip gloss and maybe some mascara. Two hours later we look like we didn't even try. I am here to show you how to achieve that simple, everyday makeup look. Let's break it down.
The Basics:
Primers
Let's start with the base, and I am not talking about your foundation; I am referring to primers. Some of the comments I hear most are: "I don't wear primer," "I hate that extra step," "I wear primer, but I do not like the feel," and one of my favorites, "Do I need to use primer?" Yes, you do!
Think about moving into a new house, but you do not love the color on the walls. You go to the store, pick up your favorite color, get the right brush to paint your wall, and now you're ready to make some improvements. Once you start painting your walls, you noticed that the color does not look like the one you picked up or you find yourself doing several coats on the wall just to get the results you want. Now you're disappointed and frustrated. The same thing happens when you apply foundation on the skin.
I get that you do not like adding the extra step to your makeup routine, even though you often find yourself reaching out for your compact to do several touch-ups throughout the day. Well, guess what? The perfect primer does exist, and it takes less than one minute to apply it onto the skin.
Choosing the perfect primer for your skin type is key. Skin can be normal, sensitive, aging, oily, combination, and even very dry. Primers will not only add moisture, plump and minimize the appearance of your pores, mattify your oily skin, control shine, improve the texture of your skin, or color correct uneven skin tone; they will also prolong the wear of your foundation for more than 6, 8 or even 12 hours!
Foundations: Types & Finishes
What is the right foundation for you? The same way you have chosen your primer will be the same way you want to choose your foundation. Identify your skin type and go from there. Once you know what type of skin you have, you need to think about the finish you want to achieve.
BUT, before you make that decision you want to think about what type of foundation you want. There are different textures you can choose from, the most common being a liquid foundation.
Liquid Foundations
Liquid Foundations can have a different base: water- or oil-based. Water-based foundations are ideal for oily, combination, or normal skin types. Oil-based or water-based foundations infused with oils can be perfect for those who struggle with dry or mature skin.
