Curious readers
• Fortunately, students are usually curious and diligent
readers: curious to see WHAT is written in an article or
book
• But studies show students are insufficiently curious (or
insufficiently wary?) about WHO wrote the work, and WHY
• Still a lot to teach/learn about partisan politics, commerical
interests, sponsoring organizations, etc. and how they
influence the presentation of « facts »
• Yes, young people are digital natives, but also, often,
digitally naïve…
