in September 2018 . Mr . Patel says his younger son ’ s journey was quite a different experience .
The family again worked with the EB5 BRICS LCC team but this time with a different Regional Center . They filed his I-526 in September 2018 , which was approved without any additional request of evidence in January 2021 .
“ His petition took an extra-long time as India had moved into a backlog and had no visa available in this category ,” says Mr . Patel . “ Meanwhile , due to Covid lockdown happening across the world he moved back to India in March 2020 , therefore on approval of I-526 petition , he had to opt for the path of getting a Green Card through consulate processing .”
His case was sent by USCIS to the National Visa Center for further processing in March 2021 . Though there was a long wait time to get an appointment for an interview with the Mumbai consulate , he eventually received an interview date for August 2022 . His immigration attorney prepped their son via Zoom and he did well in the interview .
“ He was allowed to enter USA by November 2022 , which he did and got his plastic Green Card after almost 90 days at his U . S . home . So , the whole process from September 2018 until August 2022 of four years was much more than we had anticipated ,” says Mr . Patel .
