Why would you go with us?
It is a reasonable to ask ‘why go with East
Midlands
Pilgrimages
and
not
a
more
established tour company’?
Since setting up East Midlands Pilgrimages last
year and undertaking most of the organisation,
it has become apparent that the prices that we
can offer are vastly reduced from those offered
by a more established pilgrimage company.
For example, the cheapest quote for the Northern England Pilgrimage we received was
£455 - yet we can offer it to you for £299. Likewise, the cheapest quote we received for
Liseux was £775 while we anticipate being able to offer it to pilgrims for £615. These are not
savings in quality, this is simply because we are not operating a business whose prime
concern is the profit margin.
We understand that money doesn't grow on trees and therefore we operate the East
Midlands Savings Scheme which allows the individual pilgrim to put away so much each
week or month towards the overall cost. More information on this can be found on page
14.
Being an Anglo-catholic pilgrimage provider, we also understand the importance of the
liturgical observances of the pilgrimage. We provide each pilgrim (free of charge) with a
manual that contains all the Offices, Masses, Rosary and other liturgies that will happen
during the trip and our Clergy, while not there ‘to work’ as such, concelebrate the Mass
each day, are available for Spiritual Direction while on the pilgrimage, and are there to hear
confessions of individual pilgrims should the need arise.
We also take our social time together very seriously. Each night on the Pilgrimage we meet
for dinner, and also meet up ‘off Pilgrimage’ at our regular social events in the East
Midlands.
From
these
occasions,
many
friendships between Churches and individual
members of congregations have been formed
and sustained.
All in all, therefore, East Midlands Pilgrimages
sets out to give the individual believer a
wonderful corporate, spiritual experience that
strengthens our shared faith in a way that builds
up our Christian witness together.
