century after the siren of Romanticism and the rise of the French current of Realism.
Realism is characterized by abandoning romantic ideas a bit and objectively migrating to
contemporary society, actions and its people, with the idea of presenting a portrait of
society through literature.
Henry James (1843-1916)
Was an American whose stories and novels were fraught with great psychological strain.
He studied literature and was characterized by providing the characters with a new
conception of force that revolved around the inner world. His most important work was
The Art of the Novel. However, the reception was not to the liking of the audience, until
now.
