Dear Members,
The end of the year is fast approaching which means when the new year rings in so will the new
handicap system. The World Handicap System, which is designed to bring the game of golf under a
single set of Rules for handicapping and provide a more consistent measure of a player’s ability between
different regions of the world, remains on track for implementation start in January of 2020. Your
Eaglebrooke Handicap Committee are making plans to help educate our members on the changes by
planning some seminars to be held at the Club. For those of you who want to get a head start, a secure
resource portal, accessible via whs.com, has also been launched to provide national associations with
a library of materials that they can use to help support their own education efforts. Look for more
information in the coming newsletters and flyers posted around the club.
The Committee is continuing our random quarterly auditing of the golf membership. It is important
that you post each and every round that you play to make sure that the accuracy of your handicap does
not come in to question. We will also be holding future meetings to discuss on when and how to post
scores for your handicaps. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions you may have. We are
looking forward to a great 2020. See you on the Course.
