LETTER FROM THE ASSISTANT GOLF PRO GOLF TIP of the MONTH I would like to start off by saying golf lessons are now available. You can arrange lessons by contacting me at ccreel@ eagelebrooke.com or stop by the pro shop. It is almost time for schools to be out for summer break and we are hoping to schedule Summer Camps for juniors soon. This all depends on the social distancing and when group outings are available. Safety First! WEIGHT TRANSFER A lot is written and said about “weight transfer”, some of it confusing. The simplest way to think of this is to put the golf club down and go through the motion like you are throwing a baseball or football. You never see a pitcher in baseball throwing strikes off his back foot, he’s always releasing the ball with the weight on his front foot. In football unless the quarterback is being rushed hard you wouldn’t teach him to throw off his back foot. Now pick up the club and swing through the ball with your weight finishing on your front foot. Hopefully you’ll see a difference in the distance and direction of the ball.
