Much of her motivation comes from her father.
“ My father was extremely influential and inspirational to me,” she explained.“ He was an amazingly talented artist, a feminist, and my biggest supporter.”

He lived an incredibly difficult life, escaping Poland at age 13 during the Nazi invasion and surviving 13 years in a Russian gulag. Tragically, his family perished in Auschwitz. Despite enduring 13 heart attacks due to a congenital condition, he maintained a deep love for life.
Mrs. Agman credits him as the source of her drive. Though she says she“ wouldn’ t change a thing” and does not focus on legacy, she hopes to have made a positive impact. She also hopes to continue learning, including studying new languages and returning to hobbies like playing the piano.
“ Teaching high school science is my swan song,” she said.“ The most rewarding part is that‘ aha’ moment when things finally click for students.”
Reflecting on her journey, she noted how surprisingly possible it is to change careers. Her advice to students is simple:“ If you don’ t love what you’ re doing, stop doing it.”
