Brett Hahn brought and showed some photos that will be donated to the chapter, that were taken in 1974 and 1978 at the EAA grounds in Oshkosh. It was very interesting to see how the grounds looked during that time for those of us who didn ' t go to Airventure before it was called Air venture. Also, he showed us a photo of a Thorp T-18 with a bunch of people gathered around it. This is the Thorp T-18 that flew around the world and later from pole to pole with Mr. Don Taylor as its pilot. This aircraft was built from scratch and this young pup with the handle bar mustache had the audacity to fly it around the world! This is our Don Taylor who recently passed away here in Las Cruces. This photo was taken right after he had done the around the world flight. It will be displayed here in our hangar.
