Meeting called to order by Wes Baker
New members or guests were reported: John Henpfling is a retired pharmacist retired from Illinois. Owned a Cessna 182 and flew it all up and down the central United States. He sold the 182 in the Midwest and moved out here a few weeks ago. He was informed of the monthly meetings we have and so here he is. He would like to start flying again since he hasn ' t flown for a while. He needs to pass the physical to renew his license.
A second new member is Mr. Ron Ross. In 1997 he became interested in flying and joined the EAA. Moved here in 2014 and was working at WSMR. He is interested in building and also in what we are building and flying.
Jonathon Martel, one of our newest members, also attended.
Hangar Status: Carl reports that we have a bad heater on the ceiling. Earl and I are thinking about what might be wrong. Other things are going OK. Wes:“ I had a guy call about the red Mooney and I gave him your number. It was a guy who was interested in buying it.“
The story on the Glasair: An A & P is ready to remove the motor and send it back. Spokane International is making him do a full background check with fingerprints and all on him. That is going to take two more weeks while they charge me $ 280 a month hangar rent.
Ken on website: Nothing to report.
Waiex Project: With great effort we have the canopy just about done. It was a tremendous pain in the neck. There was a lot of stuff that needed to be built to move the trim system around and that is all in. Bill has the battery box built. We are starting on the cowling. Baffle kits are ordered. We are ready to order the prop. The panel will be cut as soon as the electronics show up. We are talking to a DAR about registration. And the wings will go back on soon. Selling it is the next step. A question was asked if it was OK for a chapter to own an airworthy aircraft. Maybe we can get some exception for that or maybe it is not really the requirement they say it is. This is not clearly spelled out and we need to get someone in the national organization to clarify this for us. with us. If he is here tomorrow, we can ask him to help on that, I thing he will.
