SIX DIFFERENT TYPES OF SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES Sexual intercourse is an easy way to transmit diseases. Common diseases are HIV/AIDS, Herpes, Chlamydia, HPV, Gonorrhea, and Syphilis. These are all transmitted by sexual relationships and most of them do not have a cure. HIV is a virus that weakens the immune system, which then leads to AIDS if not treated. HIV leads to infections or cancers, this causes the patient to notices he’s/she’s got HIV. This disease is a deadly one, it has no cure but they have discovered a treatment in which slow progress of HIV and can help the person live longer. Chlamydia is a common disease around the ages of 15 to 24. This disease consists of having a bacterial infection of the genitals, anus or throat. Indeed oral antibiotics can cure this disease. But to complete the treatment both partners have to be treated at the same time and should abstain from sexual activities until chlamydia-free. Herpes is a virus infection of genital areas. It can infect both mouth and lips. There are two types of Herpes. Type 1 causes cold sores and fever blisters in or around mouth. Type 2 causes genital sores or blisters. Herpes is a non-curable disease, but can me treated by medications and reduce symptoms and chances of spreading it to sex partners. It reduces chances of spreading it, but can be transmitted by sex, skin to skin sexual contact and kissing. (chancre) on the genitals, anus or mouth, this is a symptom that you need to check. This disease can indeed be treated by antibiotic only if it is caught on time. If it is not caught in time there is no medication to undo what’s already done. Syphilis is transmitted by sexual relationships, kissing only if there is a sore on the mouth and during childbirth. HPV is a viral infection with more than 40 types, which can cause warts and cancer and infects genitals, anus or throat. This virus can either be transmitted by sexual relationships or contact and rarely during childbirth. Once you’ve got HPV there is no cure for it, but warts can be treated by topical medicines. Gonorrhea is a bacterial infection of the genitals, anus or throat. It is transmitted by sex or passed on during childbirth. Infected people have no symptoms but for the ones that do, it will start by causing burning sensation during urination, abnormal discharge. Oral antibiotics can treat gonorrhea. For it to work both partners have to be treated at the same time to prevent passing the infection and abstain from having skin-to-skin contact. Sexual intercourse may transmit diseases. To prevent from getting any of this diseases: HIV/AIDS, HPV, herpes, gonorrhea, syphilis, chlamydia, it is recommended to have a continual check-up.
