DIFFERENT TYPES OF CONTRACEPTIVES AVAILABLE There are many different types of birth control pills, methods or different types of contraceptives, and because of that, it is kind of difficult for us to choose the best option. Contraceptive Pills The first pill is called “Estrostep Fe”. This pill is 99% effective against pregnancy taking one pill each day. This contraceptive is also known for easing hot flashes and restoring regular periods. Condom Another typical type of contraceptive is a “male condom.” Using this method prevents pregnancy and STD’s, including HIV’s. Wearing properly a condom helps the sperm from entering the uterus. IUD The “IUD,” also known as Mirena, another method for preventing pregnancy. This is a surgically implanted and it works for releasing hormones. Another common contraceptive is the “vaginal ring.” It is made up of flexible plastic and it delivers estrogen and progestin. You place the ring in the vagina for three weeks, and then remove it for one week to have a regular period. Patch Another birth control is the “patch”. You place it in your arm for one week and it places the hormone. Last but not least there is the “implant” witch is the size of a matchstick. It is placed under the skin in you upper arm. It lasts for three weeks and it is 100% effective. This is some of the birth control pills and methods that can be used in a safe way. 4
