Felix Cartal Talks His New EP & Track “Let It Go” ft. Lily Elise

Canadian electronic producer Felix Cartal, hooked up with California R&B/Pop singer Lily Elise for his latest EDM-Pop single, “Let It Go”. Off his new Credits EP, Cartal may have saved the best for last on the three track record. Unlike the EP’s lead single “Ready For Love’ and the producer’s previous quick paced, pop focused tracks like “Young Love” or “New Scene” – “Let It Go” dials things back for a much deeper, emotional vibe with Lily’s amazing vocal at it’s helm. A rich, swirling partnership of sound and voice, worthy of your attention and multiple re-plays.

Felix released the new Credits EP Friday, April 25th via Steve Aoki’s imprint, Dim Mak Records and it is a one, two…three punch treat. Although we chose his collaboration with Lily as today’s featured song, the records lead track “Ready For Love” with Chloe Angelides, satisfies at all levels. After returning to the studio, following last years successful tour promoting his previous Ep – Past, Present, Felix, the Canadian producer keeps the trend of strong collaborations and a fresh approach musically going. That’s pretty incredible after two studio albums, dozens and dozens of EP’s, remixes, singles and a weekly podcast, Weekend Workout.

1) Two collabs and your own EDM track on the new record. Was there an established plan for the EP or did it evolve organically?

It’s sort of a mix of both things. I had this game-plan to make tracks that all sound a bit different, but still sound like one continuous work. The one instrumental was sort of a last minute decision however, but I really like how it rounded out the EP.

2) Both Lily and Chloe are brilliant on their respective songs – how did you meet up and are the songs penned by them as well? --->
