The king of good times Vijaya Mallya –
• India’ s most exuberant, High class, outspoken businessmen Vijaya Mallya is a man of courage. His life can be well described as a‘ king size life’. He took over as the chairman of UB at the age of 27. Immediately after which he proved his unique leadership style by growing UB into a multinational conglomerate of over sixty companies.
• They are not just into Kingfisher beer and Kingfisher airlines, but also into life sciences, engineering, agriculture, chemicals, information technology and leisure. He started off with Kingfisher Airlines in 2005 and not a long journey it took for them to grab thirty awards since inception.
• Kingfisher Airlines were the first to operate in India with all brand new aircrafts, followed by being the first Indian company to Purchase an Airbus A-380.
• Mallya, despite his current reputation has always made India proud by bringing most of the historical assets back in India from abroad. From winning the bid of GBP 175,000 for the sword of Tipu Sultan from London to having brought most of the Mahatma Gandhi’ s belongings to his own country amid high drama from New York.
• Vijaya mallya has been recognized as a Doctorate of Philosophy in Business Administration, by the Southern California University, Irvine. He is a believer in mankind and have always contributed generously to charitable trusts and foundations in addition to having established The Mallya Hospital, The Mallya-Aditi School and the Vittal Mallya Scientific Research Foundation in Bangalore, India.
• It was just not about business for Vijaya Mallya, having keen interest in sports he has won many trophies in car and horse racing and to add, is the first Indian ever to become the owner of Force India Formula One, which is also India’ s first-ever Formula One Team and represents the country’ s first, truly global sports foray.
• Having established 26 residencies across the world with his main home is in Sausalito, California built on an area of 11000 square feet. Beside this, he owns a castle in Scotland, homes in Monaco, Trump Plaza in New York City, the Northern California region of Napa Valley, South Africa and five Indian cities including New Delhi, Bombay and Bangalore. Other expensive assets include a stud farm comprising over 250 race horses and a castle in the United Kingdom. He also has a sprawling mansion on Bangalore’ s Vittal Mallya Road( named after his father); there is also a Vijay Mallya Road in Bangalore.
