Open Monday-Friday 10am-6pm (Saturday 12-5pm) 11 The soul survivor makes a triumphant return It is 10 whole years since Faith Evans dropped her eponymous debut as Bad Boy’s First lady. Determined to overcome her problems and on a new label, she drops her fourth album and is heading for the UK to promote her work with domestic abuse charities, and the Princes Trust; stating that ‘I’m starting a new life’ on album opener, Goin’ Out, a Neptunes produced track reminiscent of Popular Thug by Kelis. The tune’s trademark spacey style is in complete contrast to the rest of the album. Tracks like the retro - vibed I Don’t Need It and the ol’ school Mesmerized highlight her mature, sophisticated vocal style; Lucky Day could almost be defined as acid jazz. With shimmering keyboards weaving in and out of slow drums and her breathy vocals, Catching Feelings is a seductive highlight. On tracks like the single Again, Faith shows optimism and hope for the future. On the strength of this album, her confidence isn’t misguided. Welcome back, Faith.
