The Team

8

Karl Mawdsley – Animation Manager

What have you been working on over the past month?

I have been mostly getting to grips with a team that has pretty much doubled in size, as well as all the up and coming work we have. The team have been absolutely caning the hybrids which is awesome and, during that time, we've managed to do a few pre-rolls, knocked out some animation for JRs investment vid. I also managed to eat 10 Creme Eggs in under 5 minutes! That is going straight on the CV!

What projects do you have just around the corner?

Well, there are a number of projects for the animation team coming up which will give us a good chance to work on a good variety of projects, including the always on going hybrids, web shorts for buddy loans, a concept for Bosch buying guides, and the Samsung pre-roll!

What are your main strengths?

My main strengths are my vast intellect, incredible good looks, astronomical creative skill and boundless humility.

What task have you most enjoyed over the last three months?

Getting to grips with all my new guys and being able to head up such a great team is always enjoyable. :D

Nick Clackett - Animator

What have you been working on over the past month?

I have been working on a mixture of hybrids, features, and third party work, with a bit of storyboarding on the side!

What projects do you have just around the corner?

We have some exciting (but super top secret) third party work in the pipeline, and we're also re-designing the style of the features. I am also working on an About Us animation in time for our big move to Chorley.

What is your main strength?

I would say my strength probably lies in my enthusiasm, twinned with my passion for catching people out saying "MINE' on a Friday. In a professional capacity, I love character animation and drawing, be it for design or as a storyboard. I also enjoy working with others, and think I'm quite a friendly chap.

What task have you most enjoyed over the last three months?

The task I have enjoyed most would be designing a new character to feature in our online features. The task I have enjoyed the least has been to eat 10 Refresher bars in 30 minutes.

Laura Stephenson – Multimedia Content Manager

What have you been working on over the past month?

It’s been a busy old time…over the past month I’ve worked on two marketing campaigns for Hotpoint, providing production packs and scripts, while managing continuity on set for both pre-roll shoots. I’ve also coordinated all relevant animated feature/video review content for these campaigns. I’m currently working on a Samsung pre-roll script, some content for a company called Buddy Loans, some Bosch buying guide scripts, and quality checked our steady stream of hybrid reviews.

What projects do you have just around the corner?

Coming up we’ve got 5 videos for Expert Logistics to script with the possibility of more Halfords work coming our way too.

What are your main strengths?

Writing- I love the challenge of working on different projects with different departments.

What task have you most enjoyed over the last three months?

Without doubt I’ve loved working on continuity for the pre-roll shoots. :D

Mark Cunliffe – Junior Scriptwriter

What have you been working on over the past month?

Mainly scripts for reviews. My job title recently changed to ‘AO Junior Scriptwriter’ which means that the responsibility for internal content leans towards me! It’s a fantastic challenge. On top of that I’ve been coming up with a new format for SDA scripts and going to plenty of training sessions.

What projects do you have just around the corner?

I’m off to Marmaris next week so my main task will be avoiding the riots and enjoying the sun!

What are your main strengths?

I’m a keen writer, which comes in handy! I love writing scripts (that aren’t about white goods) and like to think that I can play guitar.

What task have you most enjoyed over the last three months?

Working on SDA scripts and having a makeshift BBQ in the sun.
