Sophie - Scriptwriter

What have you been working on over the past month?

This past month I’ve been working on Miele scripts, which has meant plenty of research and training too. I’ve helped out presenters in the studio with these as well. I must admit I’m sold, I want one! I’ve been on plenty of training trips this past month or so, with two down to Samsung and BSH SDA training at head office, so, all in all, pretty busy.

What projects do you have just around the corner?

Scripting for SDA products is on-going, and there’s a stack of coffee machines and irons in the warehouse that I’ll be researching and scripting, along with Mark . I’ve also got projects with Expert Logistics in the pipeline too! Oh and I’m going to be scripting a video about what we do here at the studios and how videos help the AO site.

What are your main strengths?

Making cakes! Second to that I’d like to think I’m half decent at writing and keeping myself nice and organised.

What task have you most enjoyed over the last three months?

As geeky as it sounds, the training courses have been super helpful, especially with shiny new products coming in. The new studio tuck-shop has been a highlight too :D

HYBRID

THEORY

AO are now the benchmark for online video reviews and the quality and consistency with which we produce them is second-to-none. In short, we rock!

BUT, if there's one thing we don't do in this company, it's sit still. How do you take the best and make it better? It's the philosphy that's taken us to where we are - and it's the philosophy we'll always have. When looking at the video reviews, the answer was obvious - let's add animation. The reviews that incorporate animation - known as hybrids - make it even easier for the customer to understand how somthing works and why it benefits them, making the decision to buy even easier.

Here's one of our new kick-ass reviews in action:

Early tests on the video above have shown that twice as many people watch a hybrid video right to end over a non-hybrid.

Making the best, better.
