Summary
The series of scenarios aims to increase the learner’s ability to self-evaluate and identify areas of continued development. A GROW model worksheet is to be completed nearing the end of each stage with the final worksheet focusing more deeply on post-test development and the need to regularly top up skills and knowledge. For that reason the final GROW worksheet is more complex.
Scenario
Phase 1 (In car) At the end of each of the four stages the instructor should ask the learner to complete a simple GROW plan. Initially the instructor may need to help the learner to understand to benefits of a GROW plan. This should be achieved by encouraging the learner to see the GROW plan as a way of helping the instructor to tailor their tuition to fit the learner’s individual needs. This is then completed by the learner in a self-learning phase of the scenario. As the learner grows in confidence with process, the instructor should encourage the learner to see the GROW plan as an important part of them developing self-assessment skills.
Phase 2 (Self-learning) Completion of the GROW model worksheet.
