Pearson Vue lose Theory Test contract.

It was announced on 22/10/13 that the new theory test contract has been awarded to Learn Direct.

No date was given in the announcement, but it’s believed that the current contract with Pearson Vue runs out in October 2014.

There was one point in the announcement that has caused some concern, “We also supported Home Office immigration to become the first government agency to offer 100 per cent online bookings and payments for customers”; we fail to see how any government department can have 100% online booking and payments when 100% of the population of the UK don’t have access to a computer or own a bank account.

This matter has been raised with the DVSA, however they needed to talk with Learn Direct before coming back to us.

If you have concerns over this proposed 100% online booking and payment, get in touch with your National Association or contact Dib-Unite at the email address on page 2 of this newsletter.

Breaking News -Update

It would appear the above article is a little premature.

It has been reported that DVSA never carried out the full checks before awarding the contract to Learn Direct.
