Complaints have been made to the Bedfordshire Police also the European Commissioner of Transport. Needless to say neither of them were interested.

I made a further complaint via my MEP to see if he could get some action from the EU, after all it's their Directive that the DSA are breaching.

His reply blow;

Thank you for the message.

If there is a conflict of interest, Brussels has no powers to intervene. It is for the UK government to sort out its own muddle, if that is what it is.

Is that what you were asking me - or have I misunderstood ?

All good wishes

Bill Newton Dunn, Lib Dem MEP

We note in the latest consultation that certain exception have been stipulate B+E training being one of them.

We do realise that B+E is to some just a licence up grade we say this as no further theory test is required, however if towing was so easy why does it require anther test.

From what you have read you will have to form your own opinion as to whether or not you consider that the DSA have created a conflict of interest.

One of the concerns is what other areas of driver training will they move into next. There are several areas that you don't have to be an ADI to instruct in Lorry and Coaches have a voluntary register, anyone with the neccesary licence and experience can instruct.

Commerical companies should not have to compete with the likes of the DSA for work. The DSA would have an unfair advantage as they can and in this case, instructo and test.
