Nuria: The change occurs when the static/tradi-
tional things/ day by day, needs to be different,
about boring. When something is static becomes
into something who needs the change, and in this
way, is the change itself. Max: Change for me is a
process of progress. Therfor it needs the ability and
the time to rethink things. [Like: what could be?]
That requires often education, courage and men-
tal strength. When this step is done, the hardest part
comes: transfering the theoretical into practical
change, change your behaviour. As it can be seen,
the opinions about this particular question were
highly individual. This created two new thoughts: on
the one hand, it’s a good and very complex ques-
tion to think about and on the other hand, we were
curious about collecting more answers from more
different people. As it can be seen, the opinions

This created two new thoughts: on the one hand, it’s
a good and very complex question to think about
and on the other hand, we were curious about col-
lecting more answers from more different people.
Sonya came up with the idea of making a flipbook
project because flipbook was a great example that
represented change. But the idea was to work on
the public space, so we started thinking about ways
to transfer the idea of a flipbook into some other
medium that would involve public interaction. After
a group discussion, we decided to make a perfor-
mance in public space, where we would be ask-
ing people what does the word »Change« mean
to them or what would they change if they would
change one thing? We tried to combine every idea
and conclusion: the flipbook, public space, perfor-
mance and different meanings of change. Follow-
ing that, we created paper canvas and wore them
on our body to become a »living notebook«. Then
we went out on the street and asked strangers what
is change for you? or what would you change if you
could change something? We offered a bunch of
pencils, so they were able to write down their an-
swers. We collected answers for four hours until our
»notebooks« where full. Finally, we presented the
project, which is a collection of different mean-
ings and different opinions; what is change or what
would people like change if they could. After going
through this process, we believed that each mem-
ber of the group had a different experience and a
unique perspective on the whole process. There-
fore, as a conclusion we are sharing our individual
experience and perception of the whole process;
Paola: So, the whole process of getting an idea of
performance and planning it was very fun and cre-
ative, every one participated and when we were
doing the performance, I was nervous, but as the
time passed, I got in to it and it went easier even
though people refused to participate a lot. In the
end the results were very interesting and various.
Sonja: The process itself was very fun, first of all be-
cause of our interaction in the group, the chance
to share opinions and perceptions. It was interesting
to see how all ideas develop into one single way
and also, people responding and their reactions.
It’s a full range between complete ignoring and just
walking by, not wanting to talk, to opening up and
being amazed by the project. It was great to talk to
all those people and see all their views and answers.
There were interesting ones for sure, mostly about
the current political and social situation, but also the
personal ones as well. Now, we are planning to do
another artwork and projects inspired by that an-
swers.Elena: the best part of the work was the good
environment we created as partners, we were so
opened to listen and change our perspectives of
