Group Work

At the start of this project I was wary about the concept we had because the block seminar was so short and we had to come up with a very rushed concept which I was not particularly proud of . But when we met our group again a few weeks later and discussed other ideas , it began to improve and we arrived at a very strong concept . I really enjoyed making our book and I think it looks wonderful . I love that it is a mixture of everyone ’ s creativity and thoughts about the bridges . I really enjoyed going out to each bridge in such a condensed space of time and looking at each of their uses compared to one another and it has made me think a lot more about the structure of cities and what they need to function the way that they do .

For the main part of the physical research , during the block seminar , we had our whole group together which made it quite easy to come up with and exchange ideas .
We worked well as a group , compromising and bringing in each other ’ s ideas to create the basis for our project . It is always a challenge to work in a group and to have to compromise your ideas , but we succeeded .
After the block seminar was over , however , Nada had to leave Budapest and we didn ’ t have the same flow when talking to her as we had to communicate solely via text . As the main bulk of the physical work was produced by us in Budapest , it was very difficult for her to contribute towards the final book , but we were in constant contact with Nada all the time , asking for her opinions and ideas .
It worked very well when the three of us each took a bridge to collage and show our feelings about , as we could look at it from our own personal experiences and put our own artistic spin on it . It also worked well when we worked on the last bridge together because we knew what we were doing and what exactly we wanted to communicate with our visuals . This teamwork lead to a cohesive , collaborative journal which portrays are experience in an interactive way .
