The urban pigeon lives now in the city , but that doesn ’ t mean it can escape from the laws of nature . Although the new surrounding changes the way it behaves , the natural predators and nemesis are still there . Human ’ s direct and indirect interractions are influencing the way pigeons get food , but it ’ s doing them more harm then good , such as robbing pigeons of their experience of hunting , as a main sorce of getting food . On the other hand , there are situations where humans in their “ natural habitat ” are defending their food from pigeons who like to steal it . Some people believe that pigeons are just waiting to conquer the world , always coming out of nowhere , judgingly looking at us from the heights . They often find ways around our rules , and quite literally express their attitude about us .
Pigeons became our neighbours , a part of our daily lives . A majoirty of us don ’ t even acknowledge them , they are just a part of the crowd . Some of us seek joy in interacting with them , feeding them in our saddest or happiest moments , seeing them fly or running through a flock in a park , regardless of our age . But then , there are those who are scared of a flock , their clapping of the wings , low flight or dirt they may spread . They are calling them flying rats , and belive they don ’ t belong with us in the city . We can see this unfriendly attitude in many forms . One of them can be seen even in something as simple as feeding pigeons , where we often see favorisation depending on their looks and colour . Sounds familiar ? Sometimes , this can be minor but in other cases it ’ s quite radical , and it can suggest that only pretty ones deserve food .
The beauty is in the eye of the beholder ; if we are willing to look pass the unfortunate situation the pigens are in now , we can see that they are a part of the beautiful nature , as animals , as our

fellow citizens , and as a subject of the art . Even in the most revolting marks that pigeons leave , sometimes , if we look closely enough , we can actually see art made by them — a natural type of abstract expressionism .

Adapting to the new surrounding where there are no caves and much less nature , urban pigeons used what resembled their natural habitat the most . Now , they prefer more urban architecture then a natural one . Therefore , they became our first neighbours , but most of us don ’ t like that idea , usually because of the noise and the dirtiness . To stop them from their unpleasantness on our buildings , we developed defence mechanisms , but they found a way around them .
Every story has many thruths , points of view , and directions . Sometimes , the reflection is more true then the original . Either way , both of them exist out in the open or subconciously . That law applies to all humans and animals ; if we think about it we are not that different .
