It has been revealed that Johnny Coca has been appointed the role of Creative Director at Mulberry.

Coca has previously had great involvement with brand Céline since 2010 and has worked on leather goods, shoes, accessories, jewellery and sunglasses. Before his career at Céline however, Coca had also worked for the likes of Louis Vuitton and Bally.

Coca has a huge love for British culture and teaches at the famous London University 'Central Saint Martins'. Coca is said to be delighted to be living and working in London. With Mulberry being a true English heritage brand, it seems that the two together will seem like the perfect partnership. Coca will of course

continue to produce Mulberry goods in Somerset, England.

The brand saw the departure of previous designer, Emma Hill last year and had since suffered financially. New Mulberry chairman and chief executive Godfrey Davis said that Johnny’s, “wealth of international luxury and fashion experience that will help us bring new energy and innovation to Mulberry."

Unfortunately those who are excited to see Coca in action will have to be patient as Johnny's first day at Mulberry won't be until 8th July 2016. For this reason it is believed the first we will see of Coca's designs will be in his first collection to be presented for Spring/Summer 2016 next September. For now however, we can all just admire his amazing work at Céline and that famous trapeze bag that we all want!
