"Living on Mars"
Cotton fabric appliquéd and quilted with
silk thread. The white fabric glows in the
dark.
About; I live in Florida, and I love the
Kennedy Space Center. The reality of
going into space is exciting and
wondrous to me. I'm a quilt maker and
I've always supported The Dream Rocket
Project. I created a panel when the
project first started in 2009. When I
heard about this NASA Exhibit, I wanted
to contribute.

organza, wool and silk roving, lame, fringe,

About; My creativity and imagination is
challenged by the pictures from the Hubble

"Weaving a web from Earth to Mars"
Ink pen on cotton fabric.
About; When human beings arrive on Mars,
other creatures will also arrive either by
accident or on purpose. There may be
spiders. Spider webs are a metaphor for the
connection between Earth and Mars,
between humans and other humans, and
between humans & animals.
Did you enjoy this project? Yes, I enjoyed
