Reduced formaldehyde materials as defined by the code are required by CALGreen Chapter 4, Section 4.504.5. The GreenPoint Rated measure and the CARB standard are more stringent than the CALGreen measure, as the CALGreen measure only addresses hardwood plywood, particle board, and MDF. VERIFICATION Field Verification: The Rater will conduct field verifications of installed material and take photos.
Documentation: The Rater must obtain documentation of material specifications and use, consisting of invoices and specifications from manufacturers indicating compliance with the CARB NAD Threshold.
INTENT To reduce formaldehyde levels in indoor air by using products with lower formaldehyde emissions.

CRITERIA FOR QUALIFICATION
Up to 2 points may be awarded for the use of 20 products from 5 different manufacturers and 5 different product specification sections with one of the following:

A complete HPD that meets the HPD Full Disclosure of Known Hazards level A cradle-to-cradle( C2C) v2 Basic level or C2C v3 Bronze level certification with a hazard / optimization report card
Documentation: The Rater must collect one of the following:
