Max 2.5 ACH 50 for unbalanced systems( supply or exhaust) or max 1.0 ACH 50 for balanced systems— Two points
Although 3.5 ACH 50 conforms to ASHRAE 62.2, building tightness must be considered in the context of adequate building ventilation. If the blower door test measures a value of 1.5 or less Specific Leakage Area, this is considered an unusually tight home as defined by the CEC RCM Manual and the home requires mechanical ventilation. In this case, ventilation requirements must be addressed to receive credit for this measure.
VERIFICATION
Documentation: The home performance contractor and / or a certified HERS Rater will supply the appropriate documentation to demonstrate that the home meets the requirements.
