VERIFICATION
Field Verification: The Rater should complete field verification of roofing material, compare the material to the specifications, and take representative photos of the roof.
Documentation: The Rater must collect the following:

INTENT
To promote durability and reduce material consumption through the use of long-lasting products. To increase safety through the use of fire resistant materials.
VEGETATED ROOF
CRITERIA FOR QUALIFICATION
Up to four points of credit may be given for covering a percentage of the total roof area with a vegetated roof, as follows:
� Two points for a minimum of 25 % of the total roof area � Four points for a minimum of 50 % of the total roof area
Use the best available practices in structure, waterproofing, soil design, plant selection, and maintenance to install the vegetated roof. The percentage of the roof area is measured on the horizontal plane.
Intensive or extensive roofs receive equal credit.
VERIFICATION
Field Verification: The Rater will conduct field compliance verification and take photos to document the area of the vegetated roof.
Documentation: The Rater must collect a roof plan / documentation that shows a vegetated roof and calculations for the percentage of the total roof area.
INTENT
To reduce the heat island effect and energy use. To reduce stormwater runoff. To provide added natural habitats.
