EVALUATION AND CORRECTION OF EXTERIOR ASSEMBLY
CRITERIA FOR QUALIFICATION This measure is required for Whole House. Conduct a visual survey of the exterior assembly for basic integrity. Use the GreenPoint Rated Existing Home Field Checklist for Sound Exterior Assemblies to survey the conditions of the home. The checklist includes descriptions of requirements as well as ideal conditions to assist in making verifications. The required measures must be met. In some cases this may require a correction and second verification by the Rater. The Checklist provides a format to verify each measure using a scale of Excellent, Good, Fair, Poor, N/A or Needs Correction. The verification is based on the Rater’s judgment. The intent is to remedy any acute issues. Any obvious signs of water intrusion, excessive degradation, or points of obvious potential air or water leaks on the exterior assemblies including decks, balconies, fascia, siding, trim, roofing, door, window, and soffit areas shall be corrected. Typical signs of possible water intrusion are peeling or compromised roof, dried-out caulking, degraded siding or trim, or open gaps in exterior assemblies. This verification applies to all visibly accessible areas of the exterior assembly.
